Most therapy treats the symptoms. I work to understand the patterns underneath.
A blended approach to counselling, psychotherapy and life coaching — shaped entirely around you.
Understanding your patterns
Before we can change anything, we need to understand what's driving it. Not just the surface-level behaviour — but the patterns underneath: why you think, react, and repeat the way you do.
These patterns often started as survival strategies. They protected you once. But now they're running on autopilot — people-pleasing, over-functioning, shutting down — and they're costing you.
My work always starts here. Because you can't heal what you don't understand. And you can't build on a foundation that hasn't been examined.
The tools I use — and why.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)
A body-based technique that combines gentle tapping on acupressure points with focused attention on what you're feeling. It sounds unusual — and it is. But it works. EFT helps release the emotional charge stored in the body, reducing anxiety, calming the nervous system, and creating space for new ways of responding.
Mindfulness & Meditation
Not the vague kind. Targeted, practical mindfulness that helps you notice your patterns in real time — the moment you start people-pleasing, the moment the anxiety spikes, the moment you abandon yourself. This is the thread that connects sessions to your daily life.
Psychotherapy & Counselling
The therapeutic foundation. A safe, confidential space to explore what's underneath the surface — the relational patterns, the beliefs about yourself, the stories you've been carrying. BACP-registered, evidence-based, and grounded in genuine human connection.
Life Coaching
Coaching can only begin when therapy ends. Because you can't build well on a foundation that hasn't healed. Once the patterns are understood and the healing is underway, coaching helps you move forward — with clarity, with boundaries, and with a plan that actually fits your life.
Understand. Heal. Build.
Understand
We start by making sense of the patterns driving your behaviour. Why you over-give. Why you avoid conflict. Why you can't switch off. Tools like the Triangle of Life can help — giving us both a snapshot of where you are across Self, Relationships, and Success. Understanding is the foundation everything else rests on.
Heal
With the patterns visible, we work to release what's been stored in the body and mind. EFT, psychotherapy, and mindfulness — the right blend, at the depth your journey requires. This is where real change begins.
Build
Once the ground is clear, we build. Boundaries. Confidence. A life that reflects who you actually are — not who everyone else needed you to be. This is where coaching meets the therapeutic work.
Most practitioners offer one thing. I offer the right thing.
I'm qualified as a counsellor, psychotherapist, and life coach. That's unusual — and it's deliberate. Whether you're a people-pleaser running on autopilot, an anxious professional burning out, or going through a life transition that's left you unmoored — what brought you here rarely fits a single label. And the person who comes for therapy often needs practical tools to move forward, just as the person seeking coaching often has unresolved patterns underneath.
You don't need to work out which one you need before we start. That's my job. We'll find the right balance together — and it will probably shift as you do.
Aashima helped me find different ways to cope with the ongoing stress. Very resourceful and non-judgemental. Her tapping sessions are the best.Fadz F.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is EFT and how does it work?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) combines talking therapy with gentle acupressure tapping on specific points on the body. It helps release emotional intensity held in the nervous system — often faster than talk therapy alone. No prior experience is needed.
Do I need to choose one approach?
No. Aashima blends psychotherapy, EFT, mindfulness, and coaching based on what you need in each session. The approach adapts to you — you don't need to fit into a single framework.
How is this different from traditional therapy?
Traditional therapy often focuses on understanding the past. This approach integrates that understanding with practical tools for the present and coaching for the future — from healing to thriving, in one continuous journey.
